TRUSSVILLE, ALABAMA — A Mississippi family is grieving the heartbreaking loss of three loved ones after a devastating tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 59 near Trussville, Alabama, claimed the lives of 32-year-old Dominque Mariona Butler, her 29-year-old husband Dquarious Marqua Butler, and their 5-year-old daughter, Nailani Butler.
The tragic collision happened Tuesday morning as the family was traveling along Interstate 59. According to authorities, the crash involved two tractor-trailers, with one striking the other from behind. The Butler family was inside the cab of the second tractor-trailer when the collision occurred.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victims as Dquarious Marqua Butler, Dominque Mariona Butler, and their young daughter Nailani Butler. Officials said Dominque and Nailani were pronounced dead at the scene shortly after the crash.
Dquarious Butler was transported to UAB Hospital for treatment but later died from injuries sustained in the collision. Authorities confirmed that he passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The family, who were residents of Liberty, Mississippi, leaves behind a community devastated by the sudden loss. Loved ones have shared messages of grief and remembrance, describing the pain of losing a sister, husband, father, mother, and child in such a tragic way.
The Butler family’s three other children were also involved in the crash and were transported to Children’s of Alabama for medical care. Their conditions were not immediately released.
