With heavy hearts, family and friends are mourning the passing of Norma J. Coonrod, 59, of Oneida, New York, who passed away on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Oneida Health Hospital after a courageous battle during her final weeks. Her passing marks the loss of a devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister, and loyal friend whose compassion and selflessness touched countless lives.
Born on January 24, 1967, in Oneida, Norma was the daughter of Reginald and Diane (Buss) Jordan. A lifelong member of the Oneida community, she attended local schools and built a life centered on family, friendship, and service to others. She spent 13 years working as a dispatcher for Vineall Ambulance, where her calm demeanor, dedication, and willingness to help others made her an invaluable part of the team.
Above all else, Norma treasured her family. Of every role she held throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being “Nanny.” She adored her nine grandchildren and found endless happiness in watching them grow. Whether celebrating milestones, sharing everyday moments, or simply spending time together, Norma made family the center of her life and the source of her greatest pride.
Those who knew Norma remember her as someone with a generous heart and unwavering kindness. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer encouragement, or brighten someone’s day with her warmth and laughter. Her caring spirit made everyone around her feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Norma especially cherished the time she spent with her sisters, creating lifelong memories filled with conversation, laughter, and unconditional support. Family game nights became treasured traditions where love and togetherness mattered far more than the outcome of any game. These moments reflected the joy she found in simply being surrounded by the people she loved most.
She is survived by her father, Reginald Jordan; her five children, Adam Coonrod, Brandy Coonrod, Patricia Coonrod (Chris Nicotera), Tiffany Coonrod, and Barbra (Paul) Miller; her nine beloved grandchildren; her brother, David (Chrissy) Partridge; four sisters, Lisa (Fred) Rhinehardt, Michelle Jordan, Regina Jordan, and Nicole Jordan; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her mother, Diane Jordan; her brother, Donald Partridge Jr.; her sisters, Kathleen Dunning and Tracy Ann Jordan; and her dear friend, Sherry Ford Snyder.
A Celebration of Norma’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Oneida American Legion. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, share stories, and honor the remarkable woman whose love united so many.
Though Norma is no longer physically present, her legacy of kindness, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family will live on in every life she touched. Her memory will forever remain a source of comfort, inspiration, and love.
